ShiNE-y Happy People

The Tyne and Wear ICT Partnership has submitted an entry ‘A Replicable Model for Successful Joint Working’ to the Partnership Category of the ShiNE Awards 2008.

The ShiNE Awards 2008 are organised by the Association of North East Councils and sponsored by the Improvement Partnership for North East Local Government and are a celebration and an opportunity to share best practice in local government right across the North East. The first local government awards of their kind in the region, the ShiNE Awards 2008 will recognise achievement, excellence, high standards of performance in delivery of public services, efficiency and improvement.

The judging process will be rigorous and transparent and to win will be a tremendous achievement. It will be held over two stages. Following the closing date on Friday 7 December 2007 the summary information from each entrant will be supplied to the panel of judges for review early in the New Year, before the panel meets during January 2008. The nominations in each category will be posted on the awards website ( on Monday 11 February 2008. 

An awards evening will take place on Thursday 6 March 2008 at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton Hotel.  The three shortlisted entries in each of the ten categories will be highlighted, with the overall winners announced at the ceremony and presented with their awards.
