The TWICT partnership met on 13th December.
GJ gave a presentation on trends in web services development that were collectively known as ‘Web 2.0’.
Key to changes were that end users are now participating in content creation, that the speed of application development and ease of integration now mean it is more straightforward to create new web services and that users can choose how, when and through what method they access services.
The presentation concluded with suggestions as to how councils might be aware of and exploit Web 2.0 technologies whilst taking a balanced view of the threats some Web 2.0 applications pose to data security.
The presentation is available at http://www.twict.gov.uk/content/Web%202v3.ppt.
